Rappenloch gorge Dornbirn
Rappenloch Gorge and Alploch Gorge - The Rappenloch Gorge and Alploch Gorge in Dornbirn are among the largest gorges in Central Europe. They were milled into the hard limestone by the flowing water of the Dornbirn Ach for 100,000 years. Today, adventurous footbridges lead through them and past unusual rock formations.
From Gütle you reach the entrance to the Rappenloch Gorge in 10 minutes. The gorge is one of the largest in Central Europe. Since a rockfall in May 2011, the old path is no longer accessible. A new path leads along the edge of the Rappenloch gorge - breathtaking views of the gorge and the rockfall are guaranteed.
At the end of the gorge is the Staufensee lake, which can be circumnavigated. The path through Alplochschlucht gorge behind the lake leads directly to Ebniter Strasse - from there regular buses return to the starting point, the former Hämmerle factory, which now houses the Rolls Royce Museum. Experience a true natural spectacle!
